Day one we did revisit some of our favorite places including a visit to a recently uncovered keith Haring mural painted by Keith and over 400 local high school student in the late 80s! we also saw the worlds largest Tiffany Dome , stunning !
The weather was so perfect ,a cloud free sky and a balmy 26° ! Spring has really sprung and the gardens are bursting into life , blooms dot the sidewalks , tulips , hyacines ,pansys and daffodils! we headed to Millenium Park the home of the sculpture named Cloud Gate ,or as the locals know it "The Bean " A huge silver mirrored like 3D bean sculpture by Indian-born British artist Sir Anish Kapoor, the Bean is the centerpiece of AT&T Plaza at Millennium Park in the Loop community area of Chicago, illinois i , free of charge ,open to the public, it is a must see if you get to chicago!
our afternoon was spent wandering the shops on Michigan Ave , so many bargains ! if you love a good shop for lables at warehouse prices you can't beat , Burlington's ( formally known as the Burlington Coat Factory) and TJ Maxx , huge discount clothing and shoe outlets ! i managed to gather a few much needed bargains , lol lol !! as we sat and chatted i truly appreciate my friendship with Bon and just how lucky we are to have entered each other lives so long ago ! we had a great dinner at Vincent's , a local resturant nearby where bonnie lives in Andersonville , dishes range from $16-$38 and they have a speciality Mussel menu ! it's a trendy place that has s real charm , we ate outside in the open air as the night could not have been more perfect !
